I have so much to be thankful for. I know, I should be writing about how I’m thankful for my health, family, abundantly happy life, yada yada yada. You guys are gonna get enough of that around the dinner table today.
So here are some of the things for which I’m secretly giving thanks today!
I’m thankful that mugs this size exist:

But really wishing that I had purchased it yesterday when I saw it, because I have been up since 3:50 this morning and could use that humongo mug of java right about now!
Thank you new hairstylist for truly giving me just the trim that I asked for (as opposed to previous stylists who cut off six months of growth!) Now I don’t have to cry!
Last year I got this:
When I was trying to head to this:
Thank you Starbucks for finally coming out with decaf VIA!

Thank you Amazon for Prime 2-day free shipping and for inventing the Kindle! (Even if it does mean that I can order a book and start reading it instantly which doesn’t help squash impulse shopping!)

Thank you iPhone for resolving my battery issues through software update and not needing to send my iPhone in to the “shop”!
Thank you Robert Pattinson for accepting the role of Edward Cullen!
Thank you MSP for allowing me to be me, no matter what crazy idea I have at the moment – and loving me anyway!

Thank you Brendan Brazier for confirming for me that I really don’t need animal protein to be an athlete and look like one.

Thank you puppies for teaching me every day what unconditional love feels like!
Thank you Mother Nature for every one of the 65 degrees you are giving Denver today!
And last but definitely not least, THANK YOU to all my FitFeat friends who come by the ol’ blog regularly to read my silly antics! You bring me joy every day!
I wish you ALL a beautiful holiday today! ENJOY!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!
SMILE!!!

Busy with work (ugh), home and studying. You know, trying to fit it all in and take care of oneself too!
Of course I still read your blog and will continue to do so! I’m always in a rush though and thus the reason I rarely comment anymore. I like commenting and will be be better about doing it so that you know I’m still a fan!
Still struggling with making a full transition to plant based eating. I think I’m doing something wrong because I’ve lost weight and some appears to be muscle. I don’t need to lose weight as I’m pretty lean/small already- just under 5 ft and under 100 lbs so building and maintaining muscle is my goal.
I’m re reading my copy of Thrive in hopes of uncovering something I missed the first time I read it. Actually I skimmed thorugh it when I got it a year ago! Thought it was too complicated at the time and those recipes, although they look delicious seem like they would require lots of preparation time.
Thankgiving, my favorite holiday was nice and quiet. Small gathering at my house which included my two sons and my mom. We had the traditional turkey along with non traditional Thankgiving fare – my mom’s delicious Cuban Morro’s and Cristiano’s (rice and black beans). And of course pies, – berry and pumpkin. Oh but I love pie and I indulged accordingly!
I must try your soysage and buscuit dish; I haven’t had that for years!
Have a great Friday!

Hi Alexandra!
Maybe as you transition, you could utilize rice and/or hemp protein powders to help maintain your lean muscle in place of the meat you don’t want to eat anymore? (You may already be doing that.) Have you had BF% testing to be sure that you are losing muscle?
I hear you on building and maintaining muscle – I’m 5’4 and about 112 lbs. I need MORE muscle but haven’t been lifting heavy enough recently to ADD lean mass. But according to BF% I’ve lost bodyfat, not muscle so that’s good news.
I don’t follow many of the Thrive recipes either because they seem time-consuming. They probably aren’t – I’m just someone who looks at recipes and if it’s not super short and sweet, then I go “meh, too much work” and move on. So I just follow his overall principles: raw energy bar, green smoothie, big salad (one of each every day whenever possible.)
Keep me posted on how its going for you!
