Good morning blog buds and happy Monday! I can’t believe my extra-long holiday weekend is over already! Wow, did that ever fly by!
I hope that you had a beautiful weekend. It was a gorgeous day in Colorado for our Easter Sunday. So MSP and I figured it would be a perfect morning to get in our first hike of the season.
Welcome to my chapel:

I always seem to be doing something outdoors with friends or MSP on Sundays. I don’t belong to a particular religious denomination, so I always like to say that my outdoor jaunts are my “churchtime”.
We had a great hike. We’d initially intended to wear our VFF barefoot shoes – but it was a good thing we brought our trail runners along too because we ran into a lot of this:

Saw some neat things:

And posed for some pics :

We were out for a little over two hours and had a blast. I’m so excited that hiking season is here again! Maybe one of these years I’ll invest in some snowshoes so that hiking season can last all year long.
Did you do anything fun and fitness related over the holiday weekend?

The Spring Slimdown continues to creep along with the lowest weigh-in so far at a loss of 1.8 lbs over 13 days. Getting there slowly and could make it faster if I was willing to be a bit more obsessive. But right now, I’m not!
Make a great day!

Lovely pictures from what looks like a lovely hike! My friend and I went hiking in Laguna Beach the day before Easter – we had sun and beach views instead of snow and pine trees. I miss the Colorado mountains – I need to get out there this summer for a little Rocky Mountain hiking!

Carrie, you know you have a guest room here with your name on it, right??
We’d love to have you for a visit!

See, you have mountains..
so so so jealous! I love hiking and I wish we got out more but our area is rocky and that plus a jogger stroller means Hubs has to basically carry JJ (stroller and all) most of it! no fun for him!
Good for you! Do you Garmin your hikes? That’s another thing I can’t wait to do…and then record the trail.
Glad you had a great weekend and happy Easter! JJ had a cadbury egg (that he barely ate) and I thought of you!

mmm cadbury eggs… I want one now!!!
Yes I do wear my Garmin on my hikes. I just like to know how far I’ve gone, how high I climbed, etc. It’s just too much fun to look at the charts afterward!

I do the same thing!!
I always say my running trail is my church because I do my long runs there on Sunday’s and there certainly is a whole lotta prayin’ going on!!
That hike looks beautiful, I haven’t been hiking in years. How fun!!
Enjoy your day!!

Haha love your church! I joke about it in the same sense. Some Sundays I go to a cycle class or yoga and joke this is my church!

What a beautiful hike! Is that thing an old well? I can’t quite make out the lettering…
We had a beatuiful hilly walk on Saturday and ate enough wonderful food on Sunday to undo any calorie burning from Sat.
