Cullen-esque Hike
Hi blog buds,
I hope that you had a wonderful weekend. Our was jam-packed. I don’t think we could have squeezed anything else into this weekend! Outdoor morning run, lunchtime picnic, Sunday hike, gadget shopping, a festival – lots of fun this weekend for sure and so much to share!
We have been dying to get out for a hike but our weekends have been so packed since April with home projects, work travel, family visits, and so on, that we haven’t found the time to do it. Sunday we said enough already and just went, despite the fact that it had rained off and on for a couple of days by this time and we thought for sure we’d end up a muddy mess.
I felt like I’d been transported straight to a movie set for the Twilight series and fully expected to see a Cullen or two.
It was so damp and misty that it reminded me of Washington (it’s been a while since we’ve seen 80%+ humidity around here)!

While the hike itself was only 4.5 miles round trip, our FitBits told us that we climbed the equivalent of around 112 flights of stairs on the ascent. Our legs and lungs told us we were sufficiently worked.
Here’s what my total activity for the day looked like:
(I’ll devote a full post the very near future about my experience with the FitBit and what it is.)
We got such an early start that we had the whole hiking trail pretty much to ourselves. It was an amazing way to start the day – plus we were done and home by 9:30 in the morning! I have missed hiking and can’t wait until the next one!

Fit & Fine at 39 check-in: last weeks’ morning fitness consistency was spot-on. Across 7 days, I did something 6 out of 7 days (keeping one ‘off day’). I really improved with my hydration as well but still have some work to do this week on that.
Now I intend to work on my evening routine consistency to keep up the momentum. I have a tendency to get lazy about washing my face before bed or wearing my bite-guard. So this week will be all about keeping up with the habits I started last week and adding this new one this week.
How did you do last week? Are you adding anything new this week?
